Teton Valley Skijoring
A WESTERN TRADITION
February 25 & 26, 2023
2023
About
Skijoring is not new to the Tetons. Driggs, Victor, and Jackson all had events up as early as the 1990s and as recent as 2017. There is pent up demand for the return of Skijor competition back to the Teton Valley. The sport of Skijoring is taking off throughout the west as witnessed by over 20 events being held in 2023 between Jan 1 and March 20. All events are drawing larger and larger crowds every year.
Teams consist of a horse, rider, and skier or snowboarder, depending on the division. All entrance fees for the teams are paid back to the event winners. These teams travel from south Colorado to Northwest Montana to compete in this highly competitive sport. The TVSC board has dedicated innumerable hours to bringing this amazing event to the Tetons. The community of Teton Valley supports our efforts with funding, volunteers and land use.
Our Mission
Teton Valley Skijor Corporation is a 501C3 Non-Profit. Our mission is to honor the western tradition of both
horses and winter sport racing for the purpose of increasing our local rural businesses revenues; creating a family
friendly exciting community event, and to support local underfunded charities.
